Fortuna’s AFL Round 9 Results 2016 wasn’t all that bad. I’m pretty happy with getting 6 out of 9 right. Especially considering some of the upsets! But that’s what makes the AFL so interesting and why you should never bet more than you can afford to lose.
Probably the biggest upset of AFL Round 9 Results 2016 would have to be the Collingwood vs Geelong game. Stirling Coates of The Roar reckons its one of the biggest upsets of the year and I tend to agree with him. It was an absolute shocker. Geelong was never in the game losing every quarter. Even if they did win a quarter I still wouldn’t have gotten my cash back, because of Sportsbetcash back deal, because I got the Fremantle vs Richmond game wrong as well.
Of course the highlight of the AFL Round 9 Results was that the Crows won and Port Adelaide lost. I don’t want to gloat too much though because that puts us only one game above our nemesis and things can change at any moment.
The Crows win at Metricon means they have yet to lose a game at the Metricon Stadium. Too bad they didn’t play Geelong there last week. The Age say that the Crows were the team to beat and that they are a September contender but I reckon the only reason they shone so much was because the Suns were lacking so much lustre.
The Crows will definitely have to lift their game if they expect to win some of the harder teams. I know they can do it because they done it before. The Crows will be playing GWS Giants this week and they’re not going to be a pushover. The Crows will have to concentrate on their disposal of the ball, need less turnovers, man up on their players and improve on their kicking accuracy if they expect to win this week.
Looks like Fortuna had a bad week this week with AFL Round 8 Results 2016. Then again 5 out of 9 isn’t all that bad, a lot better than 4 out of 9 That brings her running total for the 2016 AFL season to 50! How does that compare to your running total? Let me know in the comments.
Now, lets look at some of those losing games.
Adelaide vs Geelong Debacle
Most punters would agree that this match could have gone either way. All I can say is that the Crows were very lucky that Geelong missed so many goals otherwise the results would have been embarrassing. Because of Geelong’s poor scoring performance the Crows actually had a shot of winning this game if only they didn’t turn the ball over so bloody often.
Oh well, at least their scoring shots were a lot more accurate. Now all they have to do is to get the ball into their 50 more often and convert them to goals.
Richmond vs Sydney
Richmond beat Sydney! Really? That’s the thing about AFL, you just never know how a match is going to turn out. That’s why one should never bet more than they can afford to lost. Still, most would have found it to be a thrilling game, especially if they had a small wager on it. The Daily Telegraph had an interesting take on the Richmond vs Sydney game, saying it was a worrying sign against this weeks clash against the Hawks.
The real highlight to the AFL Round 8 Results 2016 was that Port Power let Carlton beat them. At least their loss helped keep the Crows in the 8. Must hurt the Port Power fans having their team lose a game which by all rights they should have won.
Now that the AFL Round 8 Results 2016 is behind us it’s time to look at what round 9 has in stall for us. Hopefully Fortuna will do better this week.
Once again Fortuna got 6 of the 9 matches in her AFL Round 7 2016 Results. Unfortunately for me I lost my Multi_Bet with Sportsbet getting 3 of the 5 legs wrong. You can see my multi-bet picks here. Yep, I picked all of Fortuna’s wrong picks. How bad is that Oh well there’s always next week.
So far this season Fortuna’s running total stands at 45 which i reckon is pretty darn good!
Let’s have a quick look at the failures in Fortuna’s AFL Round 7 2016 Results.
Collingwood vs Carlton Fiasco
This is one of those matches where I was sure Collingwood would beat Carlton. Looking at the odds I reckon a lot of punters thought the same way about it too. As it turns out it went Carlton’s way and Collingwood was left licking their wounds.
Gold Coast vs Melbourne
Perhaps I shouldn’t have picked this game because it was one of those matches that could have gone either way. The Age had a pretty good review of the match likening the Suns going missing in the Bermuda Triangle.
Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide Crows
This is the game that really pissed me off. By then it’s not like it cost me the bet or anything. According to the Age it “The two most telling figures were 37-68 for inside 50s and a mystifying 11-28 for free kicks. For me it was the Umpires lack of being fair with the free kicks that caused the Crows to lose that game. It’s not so much all the free kicks they awarded the Dogs, some which were absolute bullshit, as the ones that were not rightfully awarded to the Crows.
I’m proud of the way the boys played that day. It must have been demoralising to have so many free kicks awarded against them and so few paid that they knew were there. Even so they kept at it making the Bulldogs and the Blind umpires work for their keep.
