How To Pay For Sports Bets

Ever since starting EZeSportsBetting I’ve had family and friends asking me about the best, most secure ways to pay for sports bets online. Naturally, just about all online sports betting site will accept credit card to pay for sports bets. The problem is there are a lot of punters out there who just do not want to give their credit card details online. Not surprising either considering the amount of wankers out there who are just waiting to see if the can gain access to your credit card details. Sure, it’s rare but it does happen. It was only about a month ago that the ANZ bank cancelled my credit card when they notice some shady transactions that occurred online.

Best Most Secure Ways To Pay For Sports Bets

  • PayPal: Probably the most popular way to pay for you internet purchases, whether it’s placing a bet on the races, online gambling sites or buying something on eBay is PayPal. Unfortunately the amount of betting site that accept PayPal is limited. To date I’ve found one lottery site, Oz Lotteries, and one online spots betting site, Sportingbet
  • Neteller:I mentioned Neteller in my post How To Bet And Win. Joining NETELLER will give you access to just about all of the online sports betting and gambling sites, except Sportingbet for some reason. Not to worry guys, I’ve found a great sport betting site that does accept Neteller. More about that in another post.
  • Skrill: Another great way to pay for sports bets is Skrill. With Skrill you can send and receive money abroad, instantly. Yes, you can use Skrill with Sportingbet. 😉

Of course there are many other sites online that would allow you to pay for sports bets but I’ve always found too many options only confuse things. That’s why I’ve only provided, what I believe to be the best three.

Look for a future post which will show you how to use these sites to help you be a responsible gambler.

How To Bet And Win

Truth be told it’s virtually impossible to always bet and win. Lets face it, gambling is hardly ever a sure thing. The usual outcome of placing a bet is that you’re going to lose, right? This is especially true at casino’s, whether in real life or online. When I visit the casino I always allocate a certain amount to lose. Even when I win I tend to pump my winnings back. Reckon what I need is to invest in a Gamble Box.

Bet And Win In Sports Betting

This is why I decided to go the sports betting route on my online sports betting venture. My sport of choice is naturally the AFL because I know more about the AFL than any other sports. I wrote about a couple of my bets in the Sportingbet Review post. Because I am all about Responsible Gambling I allowed myself a $30 budget for the month. I blew that in three weeks. What does that tell me? Simply that I don’t know as much as I thought I did about the AFL teams. Also that I let my emotion over my team, the Adelaide Crows, overrule any logical betting procedure. Emotion should never play a part when trying to bet and win.

bet and win on the crowsSo, what do I need to do? I need to study the form of all the teams properly. When placing my next bet I have to be more aware of injuries, performances, whether or not the home advantage is enough to get them over the line. I’m sure if I take all this and more into consideration I will have more of a chance when it comes to betting and actually winning.

Bet And Win On Sportingbet

I like Sportingbet because their app makes sports betting online so easy. The fact that they accept PayPal is also a bonus, although it would have been nice if they also accepted Neteller. Oh well, they may take them on later.

Anyway, if you’re pretty good at your footy picks then you may want to have a go at placing some sports bets online. They don’t have to be big wagers either because sure you can win more if you bet big but then you can also lose more. For me, when it comes to betting on sports online it’s more about the extra thrill of watching a game you placed a bet on than anything else. Naturally the added thrill of winning would be pretty cool too, which is why I intend to do a lot more research before placing the next bets.

Something else to keep in mind is that, usually, it’s the long shot that pays the most. So, if you think that in a particular game the underdog actually has a chance of winning it might be worth placing a few bucks on them as a side bet.

So, what’s your tactics when it comes to placing a bet on your favourite sport?

William Hill Review

In my last post where I introduced you to EZ eSports  Betting and why it is so popular I briefly mentioned William Hill. To be totally honest, after all my research it wasn’t my first choice. I originally decided to go with William Hill because they offered such a diverse range of online betting options. Unfortunately their online AFL sports betting option was not open to Aussies. And I really wanted to bet on a couple of games last week.Namely the Showdown, Port Adelaide vs Adelaide and Western Bulldogs vs North Melbourne.

Well, that wasn’t going to happen with William Hill and so I went for my second choice. Being an Aussie and all it probably should have been my first choice but what can I say but I was blinded by all the glitter and finery of William Hill. As it turns out it probably should have been my first choice!

William Hill Accepts PayPal!

William HillHow cool is that. Apart from William Hill being Australia’s biggest, and possibly best, bookmaker you can place your bets online using PayPal! I’m sure that will make a lot of eBayers happy, what with PayPal being an absolute necessity for having an eBay account. For those of you who don’t have a PayPal account they’ll also accept your credit card, debit card, BPAY, Moneybookers, Skrill or POLi. Strange they don’t accept Neteller and I’ve never heard of POLi. I must look into that.

I would be really interested to know if being able to place a sports bet using PayPal would be something that would interest you. You can let me know either way by leaving a comment below.

William Hill App

I don’t know about you but I love my Apps. They make doing things online so, so much easier. The first thing I did after joining was to check my iPhone 5S App store. I searched for William Hill and there she was! 🙂 A quick install later and I fired her right up. Just as I expected from a good app, once I logged in I was easily able to work out how to bet on my selected AFL footy games.

So, I deposit thirty bucks into my account and placed a couple of bets. Like you can see from my screenshot of my iPhone 5S smartphone, my poor Crows lost agains the Power but The Kangaroos won against the Western Bulldogs. Even though I’m down $6.70 I enjoyed those games a whole lot more than I normally do. A shame the all that egging on I gave the Crows didn’t work though, because winning would’ve been so much better.

In case you’re wondering how I did that screenshot on the iPhone it was really quite simple. To do a screen capture on the iPhone all you need to do is to push the button on the top right of the iPhone and the round one on the bottom at the same time. It’s as simple as that.

William Hill Special Offers

Even though I didn’t know at the time, because that would have factored favourably into whether or not I would pick them, William Hill offer their members special deals. Have you ever bet on a team and lost your cash all because of a few lousy points? Well this week William Hill is offering the following deal.

G’Day Peter,

The AFL bounces into action this weekend and William Hillt has an 18 point money back special on all round 3 AFL games. Back a team in the head-to-head market and if your team loses by 18 points or less, you’ll get your money back. Surely there’s no better bet than that!”

I have to agree, that is a pretty sweet deal.

William Hill offers a hell of a lot more than just being able to bet on the AFL too. So much more that I think I’ll break it down into several smaller posts.

If you have any questions at all feel free to leave a comment. I would really like to hear from any of you who have an Android type smartphone. Does William Hill have an app for you guys?

Oh, just so you know, the fact that Shane Warne promotes William Hill didn’t factor at all when it came to choosing William Hill
