AFL Round 6 2018 Results

The AFL Round 6 2018 Results are in and once again I’ve managed to get 6 tips right. Man, I wish I could break that 6 game hoodoo. The worst thing is my Sportsbet multi-bet was a loser too. Thanks to the Geelong Sydney game. More about that later. Let’s look at my AFL Round 6 2018 Results.

AFL Round 6 2018 Results

AFL Round 6 2018 Score Results

WESTERN BULLDOGS   4.5   7.8   9.12  11.14 (80)
CARLTON                         3.1   4.3    6.6    8.11 (59)

I got this one right so I haven’t got much to say about this game, other that Whoo Hoo!

GEELONG      2.3          6.7       9.8       10.9 (69)
SYDNEY         4.6          4.7       5.10     12.13 (85)

There were two things that I found to be upsetting in this game. The first is that Geelong should have won this game and were winning by 22 points in the third quarter. Then for some reason, they let Syndey score seven goals 3 in the final quarter. That’s more than they scored in the first three quarters!!

The second thing was that game was the only leg I got wrong in my Sportsbet multi!

NORTH MELBOURNE    2.1     4.5      6.7       10.9        (69)
PORT ADELAIDE            4.5     8.6     12.8     15.12     (102)

Yeah, what can I say, Port Power is always letting me down. That’s why I refuse to put any money on them. The Power’s only downside is Wingard’s hamstring injury.

GREATER WESTERN SYDNEY     3.4     6.9     8.11     10.17     (77)
BRISBANE                                      0.5      1.6     4.9         5.13    (43)

Another winning tip for me. Although I expected GWS to win, I didn’t expect them to win by such a big margin.

HAWTHORN     3.7     4.9     7.9     13.11     (89)
ST KILDA          0.4     3.7     5.10    7.12      (54)

Yep, the Hawks won this game as predicted. As you can see from the results above the Hawks lead in every quarter. The Saints managed to rally in the second, but it was all downhill from there.

ADELAIDE      4.4   10.7   13.9   16.14 (110)
GOLD COAST  2.1    3.4     7.6     9.8  (62)

While I’m happy that Adelaide manages to win this one I sure wish they played more consistently. I’m referring to the Collingwood game which I think was a game they managed to throw away. :bash:

ESSENDON        2.3    5.7    6.9            10.12 (72)
MELBOURNE
1.3    4.7    11.10       16.12 (108)

This is another erroneous tip of mine. It turns out Melbourne was too good for Essendon.

COLLINGWOOD          2.2       5.7       7.9       10.10 (70)
RICHMOND                 3.4       4.9       8.14     16.17 (113)

I would have been surprised if Richmond lost this game.

FREMANTLE          4.3    5.4    9.7     12.9 (81)
WEST COAST        1.1    6.6   10.7    13.11 (89)

It’s always nice to finish off with a winning tip, and West Coast managed to do that for me.

So there you have it, the AFL Round 6 2018 Results and scores. How did you manage to go last week?

AFL Round 5 2018 Results

Since the AFL Round 5 2018 Results won’t be complete until the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon I’ve decided to start the post today, Monday 23rd April. So far, I am not at all impressed with my AFL Round 5 2018 Results.

AFL Round 5 2018 Results

AFL Round 5 2018 Score Results

SYDNEY                              3.3       6.6       8.9       10.15 (75)
ADELAIDE CROWS       4.9       8.10     9.12     12.13 (85)

You all know I’m a Crows fan right? So when I backed Sydney, it was because I honestly thought the Crows didn’t have a chance in hell of winning this game. Shit, if you checked my multi last week, you’ll see they were even the first leg of my multi! Heck, if I had even a hint that they could win that game, I would have backed them with Ladbrokes at $2.95.

None were more horrified of the results than the Swans and their fans, as you can see by this article. The first upset of the AFL Round 5 2018 Results.

ST KILDA                    2.2     5.8    6.12      10.13 (73)
GWS GIANTS            2.5     4.9    7.15       9.19 (73)

I predicted the Giants to win this game. It turned out to be a draw. As you can see from the score, the Giants would have won if they’d only licked straight.  :tongue_out:

CARLTON          2.1       4.5       6.6       10.9 (69)
WEST COAST   3.5       5.11     9.16     10.19 (79

West Coast was the better team leading in all four quarters. I did find one interesting article relating to this match. This article was all about the Victorian Commentator’s Victorian Bias. What is most surprising to me is that it’s taken folk so long to discover/publish, that a Victorian bias exists.

PORT ADELAIDE    1.2      4.4      7.5      7.8 (50)
GEELONG                   3.2      5.7      8.10    12.12 (84)

I can’t believe I got this one wrong. Port Power should have had this one in the bag! According to LAFM Geelong had recorded the second upset of the Anzac round. I’m assuming the first round was the Crows game. At least one Adelaide side managed a win in the AFL Round 5 2018 Results.  😀

FREMANTLE                        4.0   6.3  12.6  16.12 (108)
WESTERN BULLDOGS    1.2   3.3    4.4    8.6 (54)

Fremantle dominated this game. The Bulldogs just never had a go. I couldn’t have got this tip more wrong. Maybe if Freo just beat them, certainly not when they doubled their score. Even the Roar predicted Fremantle to win. By 25 points too! Oh well, at least I’m not the only one to get it wrong.

NORTH MELBOURNE     7.5     11.9     12.11     14.14    (98)
HAWTHORN                       2.0     3.0        9.2      11.4      (70)

I got this game wrong as well. That’s the trouble with AFL tipping; there are too many bloody variables that can change the result. Home advantage for example that sometimes turns out not to be an advantage at all. The weather can also play a part, but in this case, according to Fox Sports, it was because the Roos played Jack Ziebell as a forward.

BRISBANE          2.3   4.7   7.9   10.11 (71)
GOLD COAST    4.2   7.3   10.6   11.10 (76)

Another bummer tip!  :pull_hair: At least it was a close game, one that could have gone either way.

MELBOURNE  1.5   2.6   5.8   8.8 (56)
RICHMOND      2.2   5.8   8.9  15.12 (102)

Finally, I have another one right. Not only did Richmond win, but they also won convincingly! It seems like they’re invincible when at the MCG.

COLLINGWOOD      4.4    6.9    8.14     14.17 (101)
ESSENDON              3.3    4.4     4.9          7.10 (52

At least I finished off with another win. All in all, I managed to get four right, five if you count the draw. I’m not at all upset because at least two of those can be considered major upsets.

Time to look forward to round 6!

AFL Round 23 2017 Results

As we get to the beginning of the AFL finals we need to look back on the AFL round 23 2017 results.  Looking at the AFL round 23 2017 results you’ll notice that Fortuna managed to get 6 of her tips right. This brings her 2017 tipping total to 125 for the year. Not as good as her AFL 2016 results where she managed to score 139. But then there were a heck of a lot more upsets this year than last year and I’m sure most tipsters didn’t fare as well this year.

Fortuna’s AFL Round 23 2017 ResultsFortuna AFL round 23 2017 results

Unfortunately for me I backed the Crows to win last week but once again they lost to West Coast. I say once again because the very same thing happened last year when they lost to West Coast playing at home. A bit of deja vu, wouldn’t you agree?

At least these years loss to West Coast wasn’t as bad as last years as the Crows still finished at the top of the ladder.

The Adelaide Crows vs West Coast game must have been frustrating as hell for both Melbourne fans as well as the West Coast fans. West Coast had to beat Adelaide by at least 20 points to ensure a placement in the top 8. Otherwise Melbourne would have won that position. Throughout the game both clubs sea sawed in and out of finals contention. In the end the Eagles won and Melbourne gets to sit out the finals.

This is how Perth Now saw the Eagle’s win against the Crows.

Finals Draw Week One

So, how does the week one Finals Draw look like?

THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 7

First Qualifying Final

Adelaide v GWS at Adelaide Oval

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 8

Second Qualifying Final

Geelong v Richmond at the MCG

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 9

Second Elimination Final

Sydney v Essendon at the SCG

First Elimination Final

Port Adelaide v West Coast at Adelaide Oval

Now, Port Power fans were probably hoping for a Crows win, knowing they would face West Coast if the Crows lost. There are probably some Crows fans who were hoping for a loss thinking that the Eagles will push the Power out of the Finals in Saturday’s elimination finals.

Next week is going to be an exciting finals week.
