World Cup And Responsible Gambling

With the World Cup fever about to take over the world many will be tempted to gamble beyond their means. With three to four matches occurring every day the temptation to bet on multiple matches can be too much for some. This can be exasperated by the many outcomes you can bet on each individual match as well. Even I was surprised when I learned of the amount of bets you can place on any one game.

World Cup Betting Options

This is where a lot of people can get into trouble. The urge to bet on multiple outcomes may be overpowering to some punters. Here are just a few of the results you can place a bet on.

  • Full Time Result: This is the one that I am going to place my bets on.
  • Double Chance: Didn’t know what the heck this was so I did some research. Read this post for an explanation of a Double Chance wager.
  • Correct Score Betting: Where you can place a wager on the actual score of the game.
  • Half Time/Full Time Results: Bet on the results for half time and full time.
  • Half Time/Full Time Correct Score: Placing a wager on the actual scores for half time and full time.
  • Goal Scorers: You can place a bet on who is going to score a goal.

Of course there are many more options. These are just a few. You can even bet on which team is going to kick off!!

World Cup Responsible Gambling

So, how do you gamble responsibly during the World Cup? Like I’ve mentioned in previous posts you have to stick to your gambling budget. This means if you’re thinking of placing some bets on the World Cup then you may have to forgo placing bets on some of your other favourite sports, like the AFL for example. Either that or you lower the amount of bets you place on those other sports thereby spreading out your wagers.

This even works if you’re planning to place a bet on some of the World Cup betting options I’ve mentioned above. Say you’re budget was $20 for the week then I would pick one or two favourite matches for the week. I would then spread my bets over the betting options that interest me the most.

The thing with sports betting for me is to get the most enjoyment I can from placing those bets. Winning will of course increase my betting pleasure 😉

How To Bet On The World Cup

All of the online sports betting agencies that I represent allow you to place a bet on the World Cup. You’ll find them on the top of the left hand sidebar of this site. Of those I’m going to mention two in this post, Sportingbet and bet365.

As you can see from the two screenshots above from the Argentina vs Bosnia game, both bet365 and Sportingbet offer pretty well the same odds although bet365 offers slightly higher odds for a draw. Of the two apps I found Sportingbet to be a lot simpler to understand and use. Although Bet365 offers more betting options which is probably what made it a little harder to understand. I think I’m leaning towards Sportingbet. Which one will you use?

Bet Of The Week

I’ve decided to add a new category to EZ eSports Betting today. It’s the Bet Of The Week Category. Betting responsibly is very important to me. I don’t want to become a problem gambler, one that has no control over my gambling habits. I also don’t want readers of this blog to become problem gamblers. That’s one of the reasons I wrote the responsible gambling post.

As part of my responsible gambling I’ve nominated that I will only place one or two bets a week. I’ve also allocated a monthly budget of $40. Naturally that means that I can’t exceed that $40 which means I can’t bet more than $40 on a single bet. If I do place $40 on a bet then that’s my betting allowance blown for the month.

This Week’s Bet Of The Week

As my regular readers know I am a Adelaide Crows fan. Yep, you guessed it this weeks wager was placed on the Fremantle Crows game. As you know I had to choose between either Sportingbet or bet365. So, I check my respective phone apps to see which of the two is offering the best odds. As you can see from the screen shots from my iPhone 5S while Sportingbet has a more colourful display it was bet365, the middle one, that offered the better odds.

bet of the week bet of the week sportingbet odds bet of the week bet365 oddsThe third image shows my actual bet with bet365. As you can see Fremantle is definitely the favourite, so why did I go for the Adelaide Crows? Well I had the same gut feeling when they played against Collingwood. Even though every one said I was crazy I backed Adelaide and won.

The fact that Adelaide did really well last week when they won convincingly against the Suns also swayed my decision a little. Not to mention that Taylor (Tex) Walker seems to be performing so much better scoring 5 goals.

Then there’s the fact that Adelaide pays so much better than Fremantle.

So, there you have it, the Adelaide Crows is my Bet Of The Week for this week. Naturally that does not mean they’re going to win or that you should also bet on them. You have to follow your own gut feeling. Perhaps you’d prefer an entirely different game. I’d really love to hear what your bet of the week is for this week.

Punters Love Unibet

In my search for reliable sports betting site I came across Unibet. Like bet365Sportingbet and William Hill Unibet allows punters to bet on various sports. Unlike William Hill, Unibet allows punters to bet on Aussie sports. In fairness to William Hill though, just to confuse things, Aussies can bet on Aussie sports via Sportingbet which is affiliated with William Hill.

Why Punters Love Unibet

As for Unibet there are many who say that punters love Unibet. That’s probably true because Unibet has become a trusted online sports betting agency. This is helped by the fact they’ve been around since 1997. They’re even listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. You just don’t get to do that unless you’re a legitimate company.

I reckon that the reason Aussie Punters love Unibet is because Unibet acquired Betchoice in around 2012.

Betchoice currently employs around 35 people in Australia who will be integrated into the Unibet team. Betchoice operates under a Northern Territory sports bookmaking licence and has offices in Darwin and Sydney.

“This strategic acquisition gives Unibet immediate access to the regulated Australian market, which is currently open to sports betting and horse racing. We intend to rebrand the business quickly to Unibet. Betchoice already has a strong offering and market position in horse racing and through Kambi, Unibet has the opportunity to enhance the quality and performance of Betchoice’s sports betting offering and so to deliver revenue growth and margin improvements,” says Henrik Tjärnström, CEO Unibet

You can read more about the acquisition on www.unibetgroupplc.com.

punters love unibet

As you know I usually only recommend online sports betting agencies that offer their members and app. This is so members can place bets online easily and safely. Unibet offers this, but also has mobile friendly website. This means that members who do not have the app still get a great betting experience while using their mobile.

Another thing that I liked about Unibet is the range of online sports that punter can bet on, from martial arts to tennis.

Punters who love Unibet include those who like to expand their online betting experience. They may want to go online to have a go at Bingo or the online Casino or perhaps even so that can play the games scratch cards. This really piqued my interest but unfortunately it seems Aussies can’t take part. Probably has something to do with government regulations I recon. Bummer.

I haven’t joined Unibet yet but I reckon I will in the future. If there are any Unibet members out there I’d love for you to drop in and leave a comment on your Unibet online sports betting experience.
