I have never bet on a horse race before in my life. I thought this years Melbourne Cup would be my first ever bet on a horse race but it looks like I’ll be betting on the Cox Plate first. The reason being because of the promotion that Sportsbet is holding. I’m talking about the Cox Plate Money Back Special.

The Cox Plate is the second of Springs three big races. The first was the Caulfield cup which was held last week. I missed out on that one, The Cox Plate is being held Saturday the 24th October and then of course it will be culminating with the Melbourne Cup. You know, the race that stops a nation. I’ve always thought that was a bit of hype that marketers used but it seems to work as far as setting the mood goes.
