Adelaide Crows Round 2 Results

I know it’s only round 2 in the AFL and it’s early days and all, but it’s nice to see the Adelaide Crows sitting at the top of the AFL ladder. What made it even better was the fact that I had money on them. Yep, it’s always pretty sweet when you win a bet.

I don’t know if you saw the Adelaide Crows vs Collingwood game but the way I saw it the Crows played better in the first half and slacked off in the second half. They should have wiped the floor with Collingwood.

Sure, the Crows won by 27 points in round two but you have to admit it, for those of you who watched the game, they could have done so much better. Man, I would have loved to have heard what Phil Walsh said to them at the end of the third quarter. He sure as heck did not look at all pleased with their performance. Could it be that he was letting them know of his displeasure that they let Collingwood ruin a killer lead?

I’m sure he wants the guys to give 100% for all 4 quarters. We all know that they’ve been want to take the foot off the pedal somewhat near the end of the game. You can’t afford to do that if you want to be finals contenders. I’m sure Phil Walsh knows that he wants to make sure that does not happen while he is the coach.

For a full roundup of the Adelaide Crows vs Collingwood game you should check out The Heralds Sun. I found their writeup to be pretty good.

Adelaide Crows vs Collingwood Round 2 Scores

Adelaide Crows - Collingwood Scores

As you can see from the quarter by quarter for this particular round 2 game the Crows dominated throughout the whole game. They were leading by 22 points in the first quarter and 37 points in the second and 56 points in the third. Unfortunately they let Collingwood catch up in the last quarter scoring only 9 points while Collingwood scored 38 points making it their biggest scoring quarter of the game. As you can see the Crows definitely slacked off in the last quarter.

The Crows will need to put in a full 4 quarter effort if they want to remain at the top of the ladder.Speaking of which, here is the ladder as it stands in round 2.

Lucky Sports Bet Of The Week

It’s time for me to pick another lucky sports bet. As usual I ask Lady Luck as to whether or not I should place a bet. Fortuna, our Lady Luck of sports, has had a pretty good run so far. She did get last week wrong though but maybe she was trying to tell me something.  :tongue_out:

When I asked her if I should place a bet this week she pointed to William Hill. As I’m not a William Hill member she’s clearly telling me to place a bet.

Ok, so the first thing to do is to check my Sports Betting Apps to see who has the best odds. As you know I’ve joined three of my favourite online sports betting sites.

Checking the odds was as simple as flicking through my smartphone apps. You can see the results below.

Lucky Sports Bet Best Odds

Yeah, you know I’m going to bet on the Crows vs Collingwood game. I should have bet on the Crows last week but I chased the better odds and backed Port Power instead. As it turns out Port Power, although it was a brilliant game, let me down.

Out of my favourite online Bookies SportsBet and William Hill are offering the best odds. William Hill have been pretty lucky for me so I figured this week I’ll place my wager with them. Hopefully it will turn out to be a lucky sports bet for me.

Lucky Sports Bet For The Adelaide Crows

Both the Crows and Collingwood played well last week. I reckon the Adelaide Crows were the better of the two. Also, the fact that Steele Sidebottom is out means that Collingwood will need to pick up their game.

Of course one never knows how things will turn out when it comes to betting on any sport outcome. Upsets happen all the time. This is why you should always bet responsibly and  never bet more than you can afford to lose.

Fickle Lady Luck Gets It Wrong

This post just goes to show just how Fickle Lady Luck can be. In my last post I wrote about how good old fickle Lady Luck gave her approval for me to bet on the Port Power / Fremantle game. I did that rather than betting on the Crows because it offered better odds. I should have known better. Not only did Port Power lose to Fremantle but the Adelaide Crows absolutely killed North Melbourne.

Fickle Lady Luck A Lesson Learned

Fickle Lady Luck

But I’m not pissed about losing because that game was pretty exciting, and the small wager I placed on it made it even more interesting. Then I got to thinking. Maybe Fickle Lady Luck wasn’t so fickle after all. Maybe she was telling me not to chase the match with the best odds but to follow the match where my heart was. After all she knows how much I love the Crows right?

If I had backed the Crows, I wouldn’t have won much, compared to the Port Power vs Fremantle match, but at least I would have won something. I mean, that was a brilliant game, one that put the Crows at the top of the ladder at the beginning of the season. Yeah I know they won’t stay there for long but at least they got there.  :tongue_out:

The good thing is that at least I kept to my responsible gambling rule and didn’t bet more than I can afford to lose. Doing that not only can affect me financially it would also put too much pressure on the outcome turning an exciting experience into a stressful one.

Speaking of the Crows, the AFL site’s writeup is called Walker Inspired Crows Crush Sluggish Roos. And I have to admit Walker did well, but he was’t the only one. I loved how most of the players performed including Sloane and Betts. At least that is one under Phil Walsh’s belt.

As for the Power / Fremantle game, nobody can argue that it wasn’t a thrilling game, because it was. I found that Fox Sports article to be a good one.

How did you go this weekend? Did you manage to pick a few winners? What did you think of the way Adelaide (Crows and Power) performed in the first game of the AFL season?
