AFL Round 5 2018 Results

Since the AFL Round 5 2018 Results won’t be complete until the Anzac Day match between Collingwood and Essendon I’ve decided to start the post today, Monday 23rd April. So far, I am not at all impressed with my AFL Round 5 2018 Results.

AFL Round 5 2018 Score Results

SYDNEY                              3.3       6.6       8.9       10.15 (75)
ADELAIDE CROWS       4.9       8.10     9.12     12.13 (85)

You all know I’m a Crows fan right? So when I backed Sydney, it was because I honestly thought the Crows didn’t have a chance in hell of winning this game. Shit, if you checked my multi last week, you’ll see they were even the first leg of my multi! Heck, if I had even a hint that they could win that game, I would have backed them with Ladbrokes at $2.95.

None were more horrified of the results than the Swans and their fans, as you can see by this article. The first upset of the AFL Round 5 2018 Results.

ST KILDA                    2.2     5.8    6.12      10.13 (73)
GWS GIANTS            2.5     4.9    7.15       9.19 (73)

I predicted the Giants to win this game. It turned out to be a draw. As you can see from the score, the Giants would have won if they’d only licked straight.  :tongue_out:

CARLTON          2.1       4.5       6.6       10.9 (69)
WEST COAST   3.5       5.11     9.16     10.19 (79

West Coast was the better team leading in all four quarters. I did find one interesting article relating to this match. This article was all about the Victorian Commentator’s Victorian Bias. What is most surprising to me is that it’s taken folk so long to discover/publish, that a Victorian bias exists.

PORT ADELAIDE    1.2      4.4      7.5      7.8 (50)
GEELONG                   3.2      5.7      8.10    12.12 (84)

I can’t believe I got this one wrong. Port Power should have had this one in the bag! According to LAFM Geelong had recorded the second upset of the Anzac round. I’m assuming the first round was the Crows game. At least one Adelaide side managed a win in the AFL Round 5 2018 Results.  😀

FREMANTLE                        4.0   6.3  12.6  16.12 (108)
WESTERN BULLDOGS    1.2   3.3    4.4    8.6 (54)

Fremantle dominated this game. The Bulldogs just never had a go. I couldn’t have got this tip more wrong. Maybe if Freo just beat them, certainly not when they doubled their score. Even the Roar predicted Fremantle to win. By 25 points too! Oh well, at least I’m not the only one to get it wrong.

NORTH MELBOURNE     7.5     11.9     12.11     14.14    (98)
HAWTHORN                       2.0     3.0        9.2      11.4      (70)

I got this game wrong as well. That’s the trouble with AFL tipping; there are too many bloody variables that can change the result. Home advantage for example that sometimes turns out not to be an advantage at all. The weather can also play a part, but in this case, according to Fox Sports, it was because the Roos played Jack Ziebell as a forward.

BRISBANE          2.3   4.7   7.9   10.11 (71)
GOLD COAST    4.2   7.3   10.6   11.10 (76)

Another bummer tip!  :pull_hair: At least it was a close game, one that could have gone either way.

MELBOURNE  1.5   2.6   5.8   8.8 (56)
RICHMOND      2.2   5.8   8.9  15.12 (102)

Finally, I have another one right. Not only did Richmond win, but they also won convincingly! It seems like they’re invincible when at the MCG.

COLLINGWOOD      4.4    6.9    8.14     14.17 (101)
ESSENDON              3.3    4.4     4.9          7.10 (52

At least I finished off with another win. All in all, I managed to get four right, five if you count the draw. I’m not at all upset because at least two of those can be considered major upsets.

Time to look forward to round 6!

AFL Round 7 2017 Results Upsets Galore

If you’re going to talk about a crappy round of AFL tipping then the AFL round 7 2017 results would definitely fit the bill. I haven’t even heard from Fortuna yet on what would have to be her poorest result of tipping ever. I’m sure when she does show up she’ll blame it all on Loki that mischievous Norse god. I’m sure she’d love to get a hold of Thor’s hammer so she could give Loki a taste of of the headache that a lot of punters are feeling because of the AFL round 7 2017 results.

AFL Round 7 2017 Results

As you can see in the image about round 7 definitely was a very poor result as far as tipping goes. Only three tips turned out to be winners but most punters, and AFL tipsters, would agree that round 7 were full of upsets.

AFL Round 7 2017 Major Upsets

If there had to be one major upset of the 2017 AFL season so far it would have to be the North Melbourne vs Adelaide Crows game. The Roar have Crows Nth Melbourne upseteven called it the Upset Of The Year Contender! If it wasn’t bad enough that they lost a game that everyone thought they would win, they absolutely got thumped by the Roos. If you missed that awful game, I say that as an avid Crows fan, you can see a quarter by quarter score in the image over there on the right.

Why The Crows Lost To North Melbourne

So, why did the Crows lose to the Roos? I have put together the top three theories why the Roos thumped the Crows so convincingly.

  1. Bad umpiring: While the the frees were in Nth. Melbourne’s favour at 23 to 16, I personally don’t believe that to be a valid reason for the Crows poor performance.
  2. Crows ugly Guernsey: There are some that say that the boys were so embarrassed about showing up in their alternate Guernsey. Yeah, sure it was kind of ugly, although it did make them stand out, but again, I don’t think that was the excuse.
  3. Crows Unpreparedness: That the Crows came into the game expecting to win and just didn’t know what to do when the Roos came out with all guns blazing.

Truth be told it wasn’t any of those, it wasn’t even losing the coin toss and the fact the Roos had a strong win blowing all their shots through the goals. Nope, the reason the Crows lost was because, on the day, they were outplayed by a better team. Lets hope they do better next week.

Upset #2 St. Kilda vs Giants

The St.Kilda vs GWS Giants game was another match that surprise a lot of AFL fans. As far as I’m concerned it was definitely an upset. What was most upsetting was that I had them as the first part of the leg in my Bet365 multi! Overall though their loss wouldn’t have made any difference because the rest of the multi were all losers as well. That’s the first time that has ever happened since I’ve started my sports betting.

Oh well, I’m still way in front and there’s always next week!

How did you go with your AFL Round 7 2017 Results?

No bullshit but Fortuna’s round 12 footy tips results were the worst ever. Looking at the image below you can see Fortuna only got 2 of the six right.

Man, I don’t know about you but as far as I’m concerned the AFL round 12 was full of upsets. Still, I expect more from our Lady Luck. Then again, being a mystical woman and all I reckon us mere mortals just can’t comprehend how her mind works. Maybe she’s teaching us a lesson. Or maybe she’s just screwing with us. Personally I think it’s the latter 😉

If you’re following my posts you’ll know that I’m especially pissed that Richmond lost to West Coast. Especially because they were the first leg of my latest MultiBet. That match will have to be the first of the round 12 upsets. Shit, they went into the game with four wins in a row under their belt. One of those being the win agains Fremantle the raining champions! Luckily for them the Crows softened Freo up for them in their last match. Shit, they even had the home ground advantage.

Richmond’s coach Damian Hardwick reckons that game was just a ‘blip‘ in their season. Yeah, we know Damian, you have to say that being their coach and all. Damn you for letting that ‘blip’ happen while I chose Richmond as the first leg of my multi-bet. You cost me my multi-bet mate. Still, shit happens when you gamble with your online sports betting. That’s why responsible gambling is so important.

How Sideshow Bob Kills Bart SimpsonAnother major upset would have to be the Port Power Carlton game. That should have been a certain win for Port Power. The fact that they let Carlton in just goes to show you can’t rely on Port Power these days. Which is exactly why I didn’t include them in my Multi-Bet this week.

That costly game has resulted in Port Power learning some important lessons. I’m sure Power supporters are hoping these lessons will result in some wins because the way they’re playing they’re not going to make the eight this season. Mmm, I reckon I might have to rewrite their club song for their impending doom. Look for that in an up and coming post.

Finally, did you know that Sideshow Bob was going to murder Bart Simpson? Yep, and you can bet on it too. Read about it all in my post How will Sideshow Bob kill Bart Simpson.
