AFL Round 17 2017 Results

There was a slight improvement with this weeks AFL Round 17 2017 Results as Fortuna tipped 7 out of the nine. That’s one better than the round 16 results but still 2 short of a perfect score. This brings Fortuna’s running total for round 17 to 87. How does that compare to your tipping results?

Before discussing the AFL Round 17 2017 Results let’s see exactly how Fortuna went.

AFL Round 17 2017 Results
Unfortunately for me Fortuna stuffed up on the very first game, St. Kilda vs Essendon. This was particularly disappointing because it was the first leg of my Sportsbet multi! As it turns out Sportsbet must have ended their promotion where they would refund your money on 4+ multi’s as it was the only leg I got wrong and there was no refund. My fault for not checking to see if that promotion was still running. Oh well, shit happens.

Who would have though that Essendon would have won this game, especially after St. Kildas previous performance against Richmond. You can check out the full match coverage and results here.

Fortuna’s other stuff up was the Gold Coast vs Collingwood game. According to Foxsports the Magpies did it all for Buckley. That’s a really nice thought but I personally feel they were just lucky. Why wait all that time before finally performing for their coach. If they really had any respect for Buckley they should have been playing real footy a lot sooner than the round 17 match.

Still, I will accept any improvement in Fortuna’s footy tipping. I’m still hoping she will pull out a perfect score soon.

Another great positive to the AFL round 17 2017 results is the Crows win against Melbourne. That win puts them at top of the ladder but they’re hanging on by the skin of the teeth. They need some really good wins to secure that spot. Go the Crows.

Fortuna's AFL Round 7 2016 Results

Once again Fortuna got 6 of the 9 matches in her AFL Round 7 2016 Results. Unfortunately for me I lost my Multi_Bet with Sportsbet getting 3 of the 5 legs wrong. You can see my multi-bet picks here. Yep, I picked all of Fortuna’s wrong picks. How bad is that  :bash:  Oh well there’s always next week.

So far this season Fortuna’s running total stands at 45 which i reckon is pretty darn good!

Let’s have a quick look at the failures in Fortuna’s AFL Round 7 2016 Results.

Collingwood vs Carlton Fiasco

This is one of those matches where I was sure Collingwood would beat Carlton. Looking at the odds I reckon a lot of punters thought the same way about it too. As it turns out it went Carlton’s way and Collingwood was left licking their wounds.

Gold Coast vs Melbourne

Perhaps I shouldn’t have picked this game because it was one of those matches that could have gone either way. The Age had a pretty good review of the match likening the Suns going missing in the Bermuda Triangle.

Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide Crows

This is the game that really pissed me off. By then it’s not like it cost me the bet or anything. :dunno: According to the Age it “The two most telling figures were 37-68 for inside 50s and a mystifying 11-28 for free kicks. For me it was the Umpires lack of being fair with the free kicks that caused the Crows to lose that game. It’s not so much all the free kicks they awarded the Dogs, some which were absolute bullshit, as the ones that were not rightfully awarded to the Crows.

I’m not the only one that’s unhappy with the free kick situation either. Don Pyke, the Crows coach, was upset enough to ask for an official please explain from AFL headquarters.

I’m proud of the way the boys played that day. It must have been demoralising to have so many free kicks awarded against them and so few paid that they knew were there. Even so they kept at it making the Bulldogs and the Blind umpires work for their keep.

Round 23 Footy Tips Results

Fortuna’s Round 23 Footy Tips Results

round 23 footy tips results

Man, I thought Brutus looked upset with last weeks footy tips results but take a look at Sasquatch above, does he look pissed or what. Can’t blame him as some would say that 5 out of 9 is a pretty poor result. Sure it’s not the best result and the round 23 footy tips results would have to be Fortuna’s worst yet, but it could have been worse.  Some of those results were pretty unexpected!

Take the Geelong vs Adelaide Crows game. I was so sure that the Crows would win that game that I made it the first leg of my Bet365 Multi-Bet! Luckily for me I was working and so didn’t watch the Crows poor performance. According to my son who did watch the game it was a poor performance. Especially after their brilliant game against West Coast Eagles the week before.

You can read a full history of the Crows in Finals, the last one being in 2012. While I’m happy they managed to secure a spot in the Finals I’m not all that confident they will do well. Having said that I sure as hell hope they prove me wrong.

Then there was the Western Bulldogs and Brisbane Lions game! How in hell did the Bulldogs let the Lions beat them. Who knows, maybe they didn’t want the Lions to get the better draft picks as wooden spooners preferring it to go to Carlton. Western Bulldogs started off well but let an impressive lead to be chipped away by a team that wanted the win more than they did.

As for the last of the round 23 footy tips results they were also part of my multi-bet and I was surprised that they didn’t pan out. Surprisingly enough that was the first time I got every leg of my multi-bet wrong! Oh well, they can only get better from here right.  😎

I posted the AFL ladder on my FaceBook Page so you can see the final standings leading up to the finals this week.
