AFL Round 8 Results 2017

The AFL round 8 results 2017 were certainly better than the round 7 results. If you look at the image below you’ll notice that the AFL round 8 results 2017 started off really well. So well in fact that I thought the round 8 results 2017 were going to be a smashing success. Unfortunately it went downhill after getting the fourth tip in a row correct.

That’s certainly better than getting the first five in a row right? Who would have thought that Essendon would have trounced Geelong. So how in hell did the Cats let the Bombers blast them out of the MCG? According to the Herald Sun, they left the back door open and then Bombers took advantage of this and their lack of commitment.

Adelaide Crows Lose To Demons

Then there was the Adelaide Crows disappointing loss to the Demons. After last weeks loss to North Melbourne fans would have expected the Crows to have a win at home but that was not to be. It seems the Demons were able to scare the feathers off the Crows. Read how Chris McDemott rated the Crows disastrous loss to the Demons.

It’s interesting to note that for two games in a row now Sloane has been targeted and kept at bay. Whilst a match shouldn’t depend on one player they’re going to have to work something out to combat this tactic.

Richmond, like the Crows, have suffered two losses in a row. That was definitely an interesting game. They were neck in neck in the first half of the game when Fremantle got away from them in the third quarter scoring 4 goals 5 to their 4 points. While Richmond fought back in the last quarter they lost the game by a measly two points!

I have to admit I was on the end of my chair for the final seconds of that game. Oh well. It wasn’t to be.

So, what has the lesson I learned in the AFL round 8 results 2017? That you just never, ever know how the goals will roll in the AFL, or any sport for that matter, which is why you should always gamble responsibly.

AFL Round 7 2017 Results Upsets Galore

If you’re going to talk about a crappy round of AFL tipping then the AFL round 7 2017 results would definitely fit the bill. I haven’t even heard from Fortuna yet on what would have to be her poorest result of tipping ever. I’m sure when she does show up she’ll blame it all on Loki that mischievous Norse god. I’m sure she’d love to get a hold of Thor’s hammer so she could give Loki a taste of of the headache that a lot of punters are feeling because of the AFL round 7 2017 results.

As you can see in the image about round 7 definitely was a very poor result as far as tipping goes. Only three tips turned out to be winners but most punters, and AFL tipsters, would agree that round 7 were full of upsets.

AFL Round 7 2017 Major Upsets

If there had to be one major upset of the 2017 AFL season so far it would have to be the North Melbourne vs Adelaide Crows game. The Roar have Crows Nth Melbourne upseteven called it the Upset Of The Year Contender! If it wasn’t bad enough that they lost a game that everyone thought they would win, they absolutely got thumped by the Roos. If you missed that awful game, I say that as an avid Crows fan, you can see a quarter by quarter score in the image over there on the right.

Why The Crows Lost To North Melbourne

So, why did the Crows lose to the Roos? I have put together the top three theories why the Roos thumped the Crows so convincingly.

  1. Bad umpiring: While the the frees were in Nth. Melbourne’s favour at 23 to 16, I personally don’t believe that to be a valid reason for the Crows poor performance.
  2. Crows ugly Guernsey: There are some that say that the boys were so embarrassed about showing up in their alternate Guernsey. Yeah, sure it was kind of ugly, although it did make them stand out, but again, I don’t think that was the excuse.
  3. Crows Unpreparedness: That the Crows came into the game expecting to win and just didn’t know what to do when the Roos came out with all guns blazing.

Truth be told it wasn’t any of those, it wasn’t even losing the coin toss and the fact the Roos had a strong win blowing all their shots through the goals. Nope, the reason the Crows lost was because, on the day, they were outplayed by a better team. Lets hope they do better next week.

Upset #2 St. Kilda vs Giants

The St.Kilda vs GWS Giants game was another match that surprise a lot of AFL fans. As far as I’m concerned it was definitely an upset. What was most upsetting was that I had them as the first part of the leg in my Bet365 multi! Overall though their loss wouldn’t have made any difference because the rest of the multi were all losers as well. That’s the first time that has ever happened since I’ve started my sports betting.

Oh well, I’m still way in front and there’s always next week!

AFL Round 6 2017 Results

Fortuna’s AFL round 6 2017 results suffered by one extra loss from her round 5 efforts. All in all 7 out of 9 wasn’t all that bad. I’m pretty happy with that result because her tips allowed me another winning bet . You can see the AFL round 2017 results in the image below.

The only game that I was a little worried about was the Hawthorn vs St Kilda match. After Hawthorn’s incredible win last week I had this nagging feeling that they would stuff up this round too. It almost looked that way at the beginning of the round but luckily St. Kilda stepped up and put the Hawks down.

I have to admit though that it was a little upsetting when Sydney lost to Carlton. That was one match that I was pretty sure would turn out the other way. Most punters felt the same way too. It was because the odds were so in favour of Sydney winning that I didn’t include it in my multi-bet. Luckily for me too :tongue_out:

The other loss in Fortuna’s AFL round 6 2017 results was the Geelong vs Collingwood game. That was another game that would have surprised a lot of punters. Read why Geelong lost to Collingwood in that round.

Although I backed the Crows to beat Richmond I didn’t put any money on them because the odds were so poor. It was also why I didn’t include them in my multi-bet. While I was hoping the Crows would win that game I didn’t expect them to slaughter the Tigers the way they did. You have to admit that 140 to 64 is a resounding win. One which ensures the Crows place at the top of the ladder. They are now the only unbeaten team in the AFL. This is also their best positioning since they started in the AFL.

One thing I’ve learned in sports, and sports betting, is that nothing is ever carved in stone. You never know when the tables will change. At the moment Sportsbet has the Crows at favourites with $3.50 odds. It will be interesting to see how that will change as the season progresses.
