Everything to do with sports betting from responsible gambling to bet of the week

Nick Kyrgios Beats Nadal Now My Bet Of The Week

Nick Kyrgios played Rafael Nadal in the early hours of an Aussie morning. Many Aussies are weary eyed this morning because they stayed up to watch this remarkable match at Wimbledon. Few would have thought it possible. Even Nick Kyrgios’s own mother did not believe that her son could win against Nadal. Apparently this was enough to fire up the young Aussie even more.

Those who did stay up to watch the match are thanking their lucky stars because they watched one of the best upsets in Wimbledon history. Yep, Nick Kyrgios beat Rafael Nadal in four sets. 7-6 (5) 5-7 7-6 (5) 6-3. Pretty damn good for the up and coming future Aussie tennis star. Especially since he’s only 19 and ranked 144th in the world. For Nick Kyrgios to beat the 14 times grand slam champion is indeed a great feat for the young Aussie.

I saw some highlights of the game and Nick Kyrgios’ shot between the legs was unbelievable. No wonder so many people are calling it the Shot Of The Year. It just seemed to come so natural to him.

Nick Kyrgios’ strong point is obviously his power serve, enabling him to win 37 aces against Nadal. It was unbelievable! He won the first serve with an ace and won the winning serve with an ace.

Nadal had this to say of Nick Kyrgios, the young Aussie who beat him. Excerpts from the Sydney Morning Herald.

“I fought until the very end.”

“I am not even angry today because I lost the match despite losing my serve only one time. When you have an opponent who serves and hits every ball very strong, you are in trouble.

“I was not able to read his serve during the whole match. Congratulations to him. For me, I am going to go to the beach in Mallorca.”

Reckon Rod Laver is eating his words now after saying that Nick Kyrgios could not win against Nadal.

So, what happens next? Nick Kyrgios’ win means he now goes into a quarter-final match against Canada’s Milos Raonic. Sportingbet’s tennis market has Nick Kyrgios at @2.60 to win. I don’t know about you but that sound like pretty good odds to me. So much so that I think I’ll make Nick Kyrgios my Bet Of The Week. Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi!!!

If you want to put some money on Nick, I suggest Sportingbet, that’s what I did.

Bet Only What You Can Afford To Lose

No matter which way you look at it, sports betting is gambling. Knowing that gambling can be a problem for certain people is why I wrote the post about gambling responsibly. Having said that sports betting can also be fun as long as you follow certain rules. Rules that I mentioned in that post.

One of the most important rules is betting only what you can afford. If you do that then sports betting can be an enjoyable pastime. Especially if you win. Failing to do that will make betting on any sport more stressful than anything else. If you’ve been reading this blog you would have noticed that I have lost more often than I have won. You would also have noticed that even when I lose I don’t seem at all worried. If anything, placing a bet on any given sport has increased my enjoyment of that particular game.

Bet Only What You Can Afford And Remove The Stress Of Losing

I enjoy the game more because a win means more than just watching my chosen team, horse or whatever, beat their opponent. It also means that I get something more from them winning. I also get a financial gain, no matter how small. For some reason it just makes the whole experience more exiting.

bet only what you can afford

If I lose, so what! the bet only cost me ten bucks. I blow way, way more than that when I take the family to the movies. Shit, the last time I went to see the flicks with my son. The popcorn and frozen coke cost me more than the movie itself. Now that is what I call a ripoff! All up I’m sure I spent close to a hundred dollars. I didn’t mind spending that though because I enjoyed the time with my son and I could well afford the expense.

The same with placing a bet. I can easily afford to lose the ten bucks so even if I do lose the bet it doesn’t ruin the whole betting experience.

If I couldn’t afford to lose a wager then rather than increase the enjoyment factor of any sport it would have the complete opposite effect. If that was the case then whats the point of betting on a sport at all?

Betting Lesson Learned

Every type you place a bet, win or lose there is a betting lesson learned. In my post Common Questions About Online Betting I mentioned how I placed a bet on the Australia vs Netherlands that was played in the early hours of this morning. I knew it would be a bloody miracle for the Socceroos to beat the Netherlands but I took the long shot because of the special deal offered by Sportingbet. (Their World Cup microsite offers heaps of latest World Cup news) I didn’t stay up for that game but I did catch the highlights first thing in the morning. Even though Australia lost to the Netherlands 2-3 it looked like a thrilling game. As far as I’m concerned the Socceroos did us proud. Netherlands were the ones who beat Spain, who just happened to be the last World Cup winners, 5-1. Again, I watched part of that game and Netherlands were nothing short of spectacular. So, what was the betting lesson learned from placing a bet on that game?

My Betting Lesson Learned From World Cup Game

The problem a lot of gamblers have when placing a bet is greed. It’s an all or nothing situation. It’s the same when buying and betting lesson learnedselling shares. You hang back to get the best price and by doing so you miss out on either a great buying price or selling price. I knew that bet was a long shot so what I should have done was hedged my bet by putting half of my wager on a win and the other half on a double chance bet. If I had done that I still would have won something. Instead of losing the ten bucks outright I would have won something on my double chance bet. Next time I bet on a long shot I’m taking advantage of the double chance bet. A betting lesson well learned.

How To Win More In Sports Betting

Wouldn’t that be betting lesson worth learning. At the moment I let the bookies sway a lot of the betting decisions I make. I look at the odds and then I make a decision. I reckon I’d have more luck if I was to work out my own odds. If I could do that I would then be able to work out which bets had the best value and place a bet only on them. I suppose in the way I would be more bookie than punter. Perhaps that way I’d win more than I would lose. There is one problem with that. It would take a hell of a lot of work. I’d have to analyse all the data. Check the history of the horses, AFL teams or whatever. Is it going to rain? Whats the track like? Who’s injured and all that other shit you need to really make an informed decision. I don’t know about you but as far as I’m concerned that would take all the fun out of placing a bet. What do you think? As far as I’m concerned, I’d rather make those mistakes and learn from the. For me betting is all about entertainment. I do it to makes the sports I watch even better. If I lose every now and again.so what. As long as I got a kick out of the game. Feel free to leave a comment about your betting lessons learned? Perhaps you can elaborate how you learned those lessons? I’m sure we can all learn from everyones experience.

Just to finish off, there is one more lesson I’ve learned today. Tim Cahill can do more than just use his head for those great goal shots.
