Punters Love Unibet

In my search for reliable sports betting site I came across Unibet. Like bet365Sportingbet and William Hill Unibet allows punters to bet on various sports. Unlike William Hill, Unibet allows punters to bet on Aussie sports. In fairness to William Hill though, just to confuse things, Aussies can bet on Aussie sports via Sportingbet which is affiliated with William Hill.

Why Punters Love Unibet

As for Unibet there are many who say that punters love Unibet. That’s probably true because Unibet has become a trusted online sports betting agency. This is helped by the fact they’ve been around since 1997. They’re even listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. You just don’t get to do that unless you’re a legitimate company.

I reckon that the reason Aussie Punters love Unibet is because Unibet acquired Betchoice in around 2012.

Betchoice currently employs around 35 people in Australia who will be integrated into the Unibet team. Betchoice operates under a Northern Territory sports bookmaking licence and has offices in Darwin and Sydney.

“This strategic acquisition gives Unibet immediate access to the regulated Australian market, which is currently open to sports betting and horse racing. We intend to rebrand the business quickly to Unibet. Betchoice already has a strong offering and market position in horse racing and through Kambi, Unibet has the opportunity to enhance the quality and performance of Betchoice’s sports betting offering and so to deliver revenue growth and margin improvements,” says Henrik Tjärnström, CEO Unibet

You can read more about the acquisition on www.unibetgroupplc.com.

As you know I usually only recommend online sports betting agencies that offer their members and app. This is so members can place bets online easily and safely. Unibet offers this, but also has mobile friendly website. This means that members who do not have the app still get a great betting experience while using their mobile.

Another thing that I liked about Unibet is the range of online sports that punter can bet on, from martial arts to tennis.

Punters who love Unibet include those who like to expand their online betting experience. They may want to go online to have a go at Bingo or the online Casino or perhaps even so that can play the games scratch cards. This really piqued my interest but unfortunately it seems Aussies can’t take part. Probably has something to do with government regulations I recon. Bummer.

I haven’t joined Unibet yet but I reckon I will in the future. If there are any Unibet members out there I’d love for you to drop in and leave a comment on your Unibet online sports betting experience.

William Hill When A Win Is Not A Win

This is going to be a quick post concerning a bet I placed with William Hill last night. You see, last night was the big A League soccer final. It was Brisbane Roar against Western Sydney Wanderers. I had this gut feeling that Brisbane Roar was going to win. Heck, who am I kidding, I know shit about soccer, my son told be to put some money on Brisbane Roar. So that’s what I did.

I got my iPhone 5s out, fired up the William Hill app and placed $20 on Brisbane Roar to win. The odds were 2.17 so a win should have paid me $43.40. Man, I tell you I was on the end of my seat for that game. I was pissed no end when WSW scored the first goal, and elated when the Roar scored the equaliser in the dying minutes of the game.

Brisbane Roar winAs it turns out Brisbane Roar claimed their third title in four years with a 2-1 victory over the Western

after extra time in the A-League grand final. It just about brought the house down at a packed out Suncorp Stadium, not to mention the screams in my lounge. The cream on the cake was the fact that I placed money on them and won, or so I believed.

I waited to this morning to see if they deposited the winnings into my account, as nothing happened last night. When that didn’t eventuate I shot them an email…

Hi, I placed a bet on the Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers game. I placed $20 to win on Brisbane Roar, which they did. What is confusing is I still haven’t received my winnings?

Peter

This was their reply…

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your email.

As per our terms and condition for the Win-Draw-Win market, all bets within the market are settled at the end of normal time, 90 minutes.

As the score at the end of the 90 minutes was 1-1, the loss was the correct selection in the market.

Hope this clears up your query.

Kind Regards,
Sportsbet Customer Service

So, when is a win not a win? It appears to be during a grand final as all bets are settled at the end of the game and does not include the actual results. Sounds a bit rough doesn’t it. But then them are the rules and we have to live by the rules right.

Anyway, I asked for some more clarification and they sent me this link. Specifically, the rule states;

“227. All soccer bets will be settled in accordance with OPTA Index results unless otherwise specified. All bets on football are automatically on the basis of 90 minutes play unless otherwise stated for that particular market. 90 minutes play includes time added on by referee for stoppages.”

Just thought you guys should know. Too bad I didn’t bet on a draw isn’t it? 😉

William Hill For Online Betting

Man, I am really bummed out. I’ve been doing a lot of research on William Hill and I have to say they have really impressed me. When joining any online site the first thing I look for is how long they have been online. The longer they’ve been operating the more legitimate they are. This makes perfect sense when you consider that scam sites lack longevity. Not only that, scam sites attract a lot of negative online attention. I’m happy to say William Hill came out pretty well.

As to their longevity, bricks and mortar wise they’ve been around since 1934! In this time they’ve grown into a well respected, recognised and trusted brand in the betting industry. They employ over 16000 people in 18 different countries! Once again, this shows me they’re serious about their industry. The fact they’ve been around so long is due to their honesty, trust worthiness and dedication to customer satisfaction.

What William Hill Has To Offer

What really impressed me was the amount of services William Hill has to offer. As you’ve probably guessed from my last post about Sports Betting, I’ve developed a taste for betting on the AFL. That being the case I made sure that William Hill had a sports betting feature. You can actually bet on almost any sport in the world. Shit, you can even bet on politics. Who would have thought politics was a sport? I always thought they were more of a talkfest. Then again, maybe you bet on who can talk for the longest 😀

William Hill also allows you to play Bingo online. They have several casinos including EuroGrand Casino and the William Hill Casino Club. They’ve even got a live casino. Once you’re in the online ‘live casino‘ it’s as if the Casino is in your very own room!

So, why I am I a little pissed off? It’s because I’m am Aussie and as you can see from the image below, they don’t accept members Aussie members.
