Best Sports Betting Site In Australia

William Hill Best Sports Betting Site In Australia

Most Aussies wanting to join an online sports betting site would want to join the best sports betting site. The question is, it’s pretty hard to know which one is the best sports betting site in Australia. No matter which sports betting site you visit they will all tell you they’re the best sports betting site in Australia.

If you remember one of my first post, the Sportingbet Review one, I mentioned that the sports betting site I really wanted to join was William Hill! The main reason for this was because they’ve been in the sports betting industry for ages and were one of the most respected sports betting agencies around. Unfortunately they weren’t taking on any Aussie customers. Instead they directed me to join either Sportingbet or Tom Waterhouse.

Because I thought Sportingbet to be the best sports betting site in Australia that was the one I joined. I later joined Bet365 and Sportsbet. I joined them partly to test the for this blog, but also because I’ve learned from experience that it’s best not to place all your eggs in one basket. Being a member of more than one of the best sports betting sites meant I could get the best odds. That and also I had other sites to fall back on if the one I was about to use went offline. Can you imagine the frustration of not being able to place a bet online minutes before the game because the sports site had crashed?  :pull_hair:

William Hill The Best Sports Betting Site?

Way back in 2013 the Sydney Morning Herald reported William Hill To Axe Online Betting Brands. It said, “William Hill, which is one Britain’s biggest wagering operators, spent $700 million establishing a presence in Australia through the purchase of TomWaterhouse.com.au and Sportingbet (which owns Centrebet) in March.”

Then in July the following year it was announced that Tom Waterhouse takes top job at William Hill.

Well, I got an email the other day confirming that after all these years it’s finally going to happen. William Hill will be consolidating it’s sports betting sites in Australia. That means over time we will be saying goodbye to SportingbetTom Waterhouse and Centrebet.

They reckon that Sportingbet will be the first to be rebranded by William Hill. Not surprising considering many people get it confused with Sportsbet. Centrebet will be next and finally Tom Waterhouse.

Personally I’m more than happy that William Hill will finally be unifying the brands. It will certainly decrease the confusion out there, that’s for sure. One would expect William Hill to continue to develop the Australian market and who knows, in time it could well become the best sports betting site in Australia.

Betting Online With William Hill

Have you tried betting online yet? I have to be quite honest with you. Before I started this blog I had absolutely no idea that betting online was even possible. Once I started the blog I had no option but to try betting online so I can give you guys my honest opinion of what betting online is all about. Now that I have tried it all I can say is that I love it.

I’ve tried to open a phone betting account a couple of years back so I could place a bet on the Melbourne Cup but gave it up betting online sports betting sitesbecause it was too much of a hassle. Joining an online bookmaker was so much easier. The two that I’ve joined so far is William Hill and bet365. I’ve found them both to be very reliable and secure betting online sites.

Some have asked me why I joined two betting online sites. The honest truth was so that In can check them both out in order to write my personal reviews on them. Now that I am a member of both William Hill and bet365 I’m able to check both of them to see whose offering the best odds before placing a bet.

Betting Online Best Odds

This brings me to this weeks Bet Of The Week. Of course you guys know I love the AFL. You also know that I love the Adelaide Crows. I have to admit last weeks dismal showing against the West Coast Eagles, a game they should have won, was pretty disappointing. Even so I’ve decided to put a bet on the Adelaide Crows to beat the Brisbane Lions. I’m hoping that the lads will get their act together this week to make up for last weeks embarrassing effort.

As you can see from the image on the right William Hill had the better odds which is why I chose them when placing a bet on this game. As usual, because of my responsible gambling ethics, I limited my bet to $10.Even so a win will earn me $5.50 which is a 50% return on my investment. While knowing a bigger wage will net me a lot more it will also cost me a lot more if they lose. When it comes to gambling there really is no sure bet. Which is why I wrote the post about betting online Being An Investment.

AFL aside, the biggest reason I love betting online is because it opens up almost any sport, no matter where in the world it’s being held to the online punter. I’ve written about some of those online bets I’ve placed on this very blog. The ones that come to mind are the World Cup Soccer Game and this years Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Online Betting And Why It’s So Popular

There is no doubt about it, online betting is popular and is growing every day as more and more punters join the growing online betting crowd. So what makes online betting so popular? Lets have a look at some of the more popular reasons for the popularity of online betting.

Top 5 Reasons For Online Betting

  • Ability to shop around for best online betting odds. Online betting not only allows punters to get the best odds available, it also allows them to take advantage of any special deals offered by the online betting sites. That’s one of the reasons why I advocate joining more than one online betting portal. That’s why I’ve joined both bet365 and William Hill and will more likely than not join one or two more.
  • Online sports betting makes placing a bet on any given sport as easy as picking up a laptop or pulling their smartphone out of their pocket or handbag. Gone are the days where you have to leave the comfort of your home to drive down to your nearest brick and mortar betting agency. Think of the savings in petrol and wear and tear to your car, not to mention the time savings. Even if you used to place you bets via phone, there’s no more having to listed to crappy music while you’re put on hold. Also there’s not more having to put up with some snotty person on the other end of the line.
  • Lower Stakes due to online betting. As I haven’t placed a bet before joining the online betting fraternity I have no first hand experience of this. I know that William Hill allows me to place a bet as low as 50 cents and that bet365 allows a wager as low as 25 cents. This alone is a great advocate for responsible gambling. It’s also a great way for the casual punter to enjoy all that online betting allows him without breaking the bank.
  • How often have you wished you could place a bet on a particular sport or race but couldn’t because you were at work, at a function or on a family vacation? Online sports betting means you can place a bet on any sport no matter where you are.
  • Online betting increases the exposure of sports you’re allowed to place a bet on. This is because online betting sportsbooks exposures the online punter for almost all sports no matter where they’re being played in the world. As you know I placed a bet on Germany to beat Argentina just the other day whilst sitting down and writing the post.

As you can see there are a lot of advantages for having an online betting account. If you have any others that you would like to add just leave a comment below.

I’ve put together two online betting collages of screenshots of the two online sports betting sportsbook that I have joined so far.
