Winning Sports Bet

Winning sports bets is probably the main reason why people bet on sports. More and more are doing it online because it’s so easy to do so. That and the fact that it gets rid of those long lines, the sometimes obnoxious sales person and the ease of placing a bet no matter where you are.

In my last bet of the week you’ll remember that I placed a bet on the Crows to beat the Brisbane Lions.

My Winning Sports Bet! Go The Crows

Just in case you missed the game you will notice by my winning sport ticket below that I have another winning sports bet. Yep, the Crows did us proud once again. It’s a shame that they haven’t been able to do that more often this season, but hey, that’s what makes sports betting so interesting. And also what makes those winning sports bets so special. Especially for me because to date my losing sports bets outweigh my winning sports bets.

I’m not worried though for the following three reasons.

  1. I’m new to sports betting so it’s only natural that winning sports bets will be hard to come by in the beginning.
  2. I’m a responsible gambler. That means that I never bet more than I can afford to lose. So when I do lose it doesn’t bother me, especially when the bet itself enhanced the experience I had watching the sport I placed a bet on.
  3. That brings me to my third point. While those winning sports bets are always welcome, my prime motive for online sports betting is to add that extra bit of excitement to love of sports. The best thing is that it doesn’t have to be a huge bet to increase the excitement factor either. Nope, it doesn’t even have to be a winning sports bet. Just the fact that I placed a bet is good enough.

Oh, for those of you who are interested I used Sportingbet to place that bet. It was a snatch. I even made a video, which I included it this post showing how easy it is to place a bet online.

Have you got any winning sports bet that you’d like to tell us about? If so just leave a comment.

Sports Betting Jokes

What’s that I hear? You want some more sports betting jokes? What a coincidence I was planning on writing a sports betting jokes post anyway. 😀

I reckon we all know that sports have probably been a popular pass time for centuries. That being the case we can probably also say that punters have been betting on sports for centuries. Well I’ve come across a joke that is so old it’s positively Biblical. I give to you the…….

This next joke may not technically be a sport betting joke but it’s definitely a betting joke and it takes place in the most popular place ever for placing bets. The local pub.

The Travelling Salesman Pub Bet

A travelling salesman wanders into a country pub and  notices that there is a fishbowl full of $10 notes sitting on the bar. After ordering a pint of Fosters the salesman ask the barman what the deal with the fishbowl full of cash was.

“Well,” says the barman, “we have this donkey out the back who hasn’t uttered a peep in all the years that we’ve had him. If you can make that dumb ass donkey make some sort of noise you win all that money in the fishbowl. All it will cost you is to put ten bucks in the kitty.

“No bloody worries mate,” says the salesman. “I’ll take that bet!” The salesman proceeds to place ten dollars into the fishbowl and then wanders out the back. Not two minutes later the donkey stars to Hee Hawing. The salesman wanders back into the bar and without a word pockets all the money and leaves the pub.

A couple of weeks later he visits the pub again and notices the fishbowl full of $20 notes. He orders another pint of Fosters and points to the fishbowl. “Whats with all the money this time” he asks the barman.

“Mate, ever since the last time you were in we haven’t been able to shut that damn donkey up. Anyone who can shut him up will win everything in that fishbowl. This time though it will cost twenty bucks to give it a try.”

“Shit mate. That sounds like a really sweet deal. I reckon I’ll take some of that action!” The salesman pulls out his wallet and places twenty bucks into the fishbowl, shoving the wallet back into his pocket as he saunters out to the back of the pub. A few minutes later the donkey stops braying. There is absolute quiet! The salesman walks back into the bar and again pockets all the cash. He was just about to leave when the barman stops him. “Hang on a sec matey. Before you go running off again you have to tell us exactly what you did to make him bray and then what you did to make shut him up.”

Easy says the salesman. The first time I whispered in his ear and told him my cock was bigger than his. The second time I showed him.”

I’m not sure if you’ve ever heard that one before because I heard that one way back when I was in high school!

You know, I didn’t think I’d be able to find a Sports betting Joke video, but I looked around YouTube and came up with a really good one. The guy telling the joke is Hannibal Buress. He’s telling the joke live from Chicago and it’s a joke about betting on basketball.

That’s it folks. I sure hope you liked this weeks sports betting jokes. If you really liked it perhaps you wouldn’t mind sharing the post with your mates. Just use the social media icons you find below. 😉

Betting Online With William Hill

Have you tried betting online yet? I have to be quite honest with you. Before I started this blog I had absolutely no idea that betting online was even possible. Once I started the blog I had no option but to try betting online so I can give you guys my honest opinion of what betting online is all about. Now that I have tried it all I can say is that I love it.

I’ve tried to open a phone betting account a couple of years back so I could place a bet on the Melbourne Cup but gave it up betting online sports betting sitesbecause it was too much of a hassle. Joining an online bookmaker was so much easier. The two that I’ve joined so far is William Hill and bet365. I’ve found them both to be very reliable and secure betting online sites.

Some have asked me why I joined two betting online sites. The honest truth was so that In can check them both out in order to write my personal reviews on them. Now that I am a member of both William Hill and bet365 I’m able to check both of them to see whose offering the best odds before placing a bet.

Betting Online Best Odds

This brings me to this weeks Bet Of The Week. Of course you guys know I love the AFL. You also know that I love the Adelaide Crows. I have to admit last weeks dismal showing against the West Coast Eagles, a game they should have won, was pretty disappointing. Even so I’ve decided to put a bet on the Adelaide Crows to beat the Brisbane Lions. I’m hoping that the lads will get their act together this week to make up for last weeks embarrassing effort.

As you can see from the image on the right William Hill had the better odds which is why I chose them when placing a bet on this game. As usual, because of my responsible gambling ethics, I limited my bet to $10.Even so a win will earn me $5.50 which is a 50% return on my investment. While knowing a bigger wage will net me a lot more it will also cost me a lot more if they lose. When it comes to gambling there really is no sure bet. Which is why I wrote the post about betting online Being An Investment.

AFL aside, the biggest reason I love betting online is because it opens up almost any sport, no matter where in the world it’s being held to the online punter. I’ve written about some of those online bets I’ve placed on this very blog. The ones that come to mind are the World Cup Soccer Game and this years Glasgow Commonwealth Games.
