Demons Were Robbed In Port Power Melbourne Clash

Yeah, you heard it right ! say the Demons were robbed in Sunday’s match against Port Power. It’s not just because I put money on them either, as I wrote in my last post. I didn’t get to watch the game because I had to work. Regardless I snuck a peek every now and again at my iPhone and imagine my excitement when Melbourne pulled away from Port Power. Excitement that was only there because I placed a bet on that game. If it wasn’t for the wager I wouldn’t have given a toss what the result of the game was,

Why The Demons Were Robbed

I didn’t find out that the Demons were robbed until I got home and spoke to my son Frank. Frank had also placed $5 on WATTS Jack Demons were RobbedMelbourne to win, only he used Sportingbet whereas I used bet365. Frank also admitted that having a bet on the game did make it a lot more exiting to watch.

Anyway, Frank told me that the Demons were robbed in final stages of the third quarter. He reckons that mere seconds before the three-quarter-time Port Power were given a free kick which resulted in them scoring a goal. If it wasn’t for that goal the Demons would have won and I would have had a winning bet rather than a losing one.

If you watch the replay in the video below you’ll see that Jack Watts clearly punched the ball first in a marking contest against Port’s Chad Wingard. The Demons were robbed because Jack Watts was penalised for high contact. Son the stupid umpires awarded Wingard the free from which he kicked that damning goal. A goal that gave Port the lead and cost the Demons the game..

bet365 Results For World Cup Bet

My bet365 Results For 2014 World Cup Final

Did I not tell you in my last bet of the week that Germany were going to win the 2014 World Cup! The image on the right shows you bet365 results world cupmy bet365 results for the 2014 World Cup wager. You may want to compare that bet365 results with the image on that post. You may notice that even though Germany won the 2014 World Cup I didn’t win anything. It actually turned out to be a losing bet. WTF!

I actually wasn’t surprised because the same thing happened when I placed a bet with Sportingbet. I wrote about it in the post, When A Win Is Not A win. The problem is even though they won they didn’t do it the allotted 90 minutes. They only won after the game went into extra time. Apparently, that does not count. So, that’s 5 bucks down the drain, but then that’s the way things roll in the betting world right.

You may have noticed that even though I got all the other bets wrong those lovely guys at bet365 returned my wagers back. I’m not sure why, but I’m not one to look a gift horse in the mouse. I’m more than happy to take it.

I did do a bit of research though and I did manage to find the following.

World Cup Final News

So, that was my bet365 result for last weeks bet of the week. it’s now time to have a look at what some of the news services have to say about the 2014 World Cup Final.

News.com.au has some brilliant photos. They talk about Messi being named this World Cups best player while German Manuel Neuer was named the tournament’s best goalkeeper! and was given the Golden Glove.

BBC news, rather than report the World Cup German victory has decided to go with a political article. “World Cup. Will German Victory Help Angela Merkel” I don’t want to show my ignorance but I’ve never heard of Angela Merkel and therefore I couldn’t care less if it helped her political career.

I thought that Fox News Latino World Cup Final article was pretty good. But then you kind of expect that from the guys at Fox News. If you didn’t get to actually see the World Cup final you’ll find that the Fox News narrative very informative. I especially liked the way they described the winning goal.
[contentbox bgcolor=’f2f2f2′ border=’999999′ borderwidth=2 flareshadow=400 width=400 left=”yes”]In the 113th minute, he centered the ball perfectly to striker Mario Gotze, who had entered in the 88th minute. Gotze brought the ball down with his chest, and, as he was falling, drilled the ball into the far end of the goal with his left.

One of the prettiest goals you will ever see, on the biggest stage imaginable.[/contentbox]

Just to finish off, I managed to find some Germany vs Argentina 2014 World Cup Final video.

Betting Lesson Learned As Nick Kyrgios Loses To Milos Raonic

My Betting Lesson For The Week

Yesterday I wrote a post praising Nick Kyrgios for kicking Nadal’s arse! I was so impressed with the way he handled himself and the fact that he won the match so convincingly that I made his next match against Canadian Milos Raonic my Bet Of The Week. I have to admit the fact that he was an Australian also had something to do with it.

In actual fact I reckon you can say there are few betting lessons that I’ve learned from that losing bet. The first betting lesson is not to let emotions cloud your judgement. After writing that post I was so caught up in it all that I placed my bet before completing that post. Yep, it’s that easy to place a bet using the Sportsbetting app.

Final Scores  6-7 6-2 6-4 7-6

The next betting lesson is to do your research before placing a sports bet. I have to admit I know sweet FA about tennis. Sure I’ve heard of Nadal, but before yesterday I never even heard of Nick Kyrgios. I’ve also never heard of Milos Raonic. If I did a little research I would of found out that Milos Raonic was known for his killer serve as well. At 23 he’s also a lot younger than Rafael Nadal. One would think this would give him a little more stamina and a few years more experience than his younger opponent.

Even though he lost Nick played extremely well. So much so that he’s probably cemented his place amongst the pros. Reckon he won’t have to rely on getting a wild card so he can play with the big boys anymore.

So, that’s one of the many reason you should read this blog. Let me lay them out for you.

  1. For all the betting lessons you will learn from reading about my sports betting mistakes.
